Dark circles, puffy eyes and crepey looking skin can make us look older and more tired than we really are or indeed, feel. And often it's the skin around our eyes that starts showing the effects of ageing long before the rest of our face catches up.

This happens because the skin around our eyes is much thinner and more delicate and needs to be treated carefully. Many people find it helps to use a special eye cream rather than the same moisturiser that's used on the rest of your face.

One such cream is No. 7 Lift & Luminate Eye Cream.

L’oreal, the gigantic cosmetics brand with one of the most memorable catchphrases of recent times,  ‘Because you’re worth it’, are enormously popular, no doubt considerably helped by the famous ‘names’ used to promote their products. And L’Oreal Revitalift Deep-Set Wrinkle Repair day lotion followed the trend with a long running advertising campaign featuring the elegant and virtually line-free Andie MacDowell. But does all this make the product worth buying?

The Pet Health Council (PHC), originally established in 1969, are an amalgamation of ten dedicated Associate Organizations, who together seek to inform and offer advice regarding the spread of disease between animals and humans.

Their website is a comprehensive, one stop shop whereby pet owners can search for information relating to practically any pet concern, whether it’s with regards to their pet’s health or the effects their pets may have on members of the family.

Even without the beautiful face of Julia Roberts adorning their promotional campaigns, Lancome is a well recognized and respected name in premium skincare.  Their expertise stems from over 70 years experience and the combined collaboration of their research centers in the US, France and Japan. With this kind of backing, the launch of Lancome’s Teint Miracle foundation aroused much interest and may well be the foundation women have spent years searching for. Read the entire review here to see how well it fares.

Boots Botanics Organic

VO5 Extreme Style Freeze Spray
Alberto VO5 seem to have been around forever. Originally founded in the US in 1955, Alberto VO5 Conditioning Hairdressing gained a following among stylists at the Hollywood studios who used VO5 products to help protect hair against the harsh studio lights and sunshine.

Since then Alberto VO5 hair products have expanded to sell shampoos, conditioners and a wide variety of hair styling products including mousses, gels, sprays and the new VO5 Extreme Style freeze spray.

Olay is one of the world's most recognizable skincare brands and a long time favorite among generations of women since the 1950s. However, the ensuing years saw the skincare market deluged with countless new and innovative products with Olay appearing a little staid and sometimes regarded as a product ‘my mother used to buy’. Since then, Olay has given itself a major facelift, having undergone a significant revamp and updating of its image along with the introduction of several completely new product lines including Total Effects, ProX and Definity. One of the most recent to be included to its growing range is Olay Regenerist. Read on for the complete review.
It's not that long ago when putting your makeup on in the morning involved applying a bit of moisturizer followed by foundation and maybe powder or blusher.  Now though, we are urged to use more and more products, applying layer upon layer over our facial skin to hide all traces of whatever’s lurking underneath. One of the most recent additions to our cluttered makeup bags is a primer. Revlon have produced a primer as part of their Age Defying skincare range which caters for dry skin as well as normal to combination skin.

Women can spend years fruitlessly searching for that illusive anti-wrinkle product that really works. And then one day you suddenly find one and your faith in the beauty industry is restored. Boots Time Dimensions softening line smoother is one of those little miracles that makes you wonder why everyone isn't talking about it.

There was a time when people wouldn't let on that they washed their hair with Head & Shoulders. For if they did, they were also revealing something about themselves that they'd rather keep private – they had dandruff.

But those days are long gone and Head & Shoulders is now quite trendy and very acceptable to be seen on your bathroom shelf.

Dying to be Healthy, by Sia Barbi
The Barbi Twins were catapulted to fame in the late 1980s. Born in 1963, identical twins Sia and Shane Barbi were unique for their Barbie doll like proportions of over-sized breasts, impossibly tiny waists and long, blond hair.

Although they'd been modeling since they were seven years old, it wasn't until 1989 that they became worldwide phenomenons when a cover story by the LA Times appeared on a billboard on Sunset Boulevard.

Before too long, they were starring on the cover of Playboy Magazine with the 1991 September issue breaking record by selling out in two weeks. Even Prince William was said to be a fan.

Skin Doctors, Rapid Peel
Skin Doctors are an Australian company producing products targeted at treating a host of common skin problems. For instance, if you have puffy eye bags, pigmentation spots, spider veins or wrinkles, Skin Doctors are bound to have something suitable. They claim to “bridge the gap” between ordinary skincare products and cosmetic surgery. Of these, one of their ‘Professional Results’ range is Rapid Peel, a concentrated glycolic exfoliator.

Ruby, by Virginia Andrews
Like millions of readers worldwide, I became a V.C. Andrews fan after devouring the entire series of the Dollanger family which began with the renowned Flowers in the Attic. Enjoying her writing style led me to reading my way through another of her family sagas featuring the Casteels.

This was during the 1980s. It was fifteen years later before I picked up another V.C. Andrews book. I came across Ruby by chance while browsing my local bargain books on sale.  While I found it rather sad that such a popular author should be delegated to the cut price book section, it did at least persuade me to buy it.

Garnier Nutrisse
Getting your hair colored at the hairdresser can be an expensive business, particularly since you need a root touch up every six weeks or so. Fortunately there are plenty of choices when it comes to coloring hair at home. One of the latest additions to the Garnier collection of home hair colorants is their Nutrisse Creme nourishing permanent hair color.

Skinny Chicks Don't Eat Salads
Anyone browsing through the dieting section in a bookstore could be forgiven for wondering how on earth to choose between them?

With the shelves groaning under the sheer volume of diet books, it takes something pretty special to make a book stand out enough to be picked up. In the case of this book, Skinny Chicks Don't Eat Salads, the title is clever, catchy and intriguing. It certainly warrants further investigation.

Learning To Be Me is a truly inspirational autobiography of a woman called Jocelyn Golden who suffered from the most severe form of Bulimia Nervosa for 23 years. It's a detailed and open account of Jocelyn’s battle with this terrible eating disorder which began when she was only thirteen years old. It's inspirational because the details of her suffering make it hard to see how anyone so completely in the grip of bulimia could ever recover. But recover she does. And it is this aspect along with her vivid and honest descriptions of the terrible depths she sinks to that must surely give hope to anyone suffering from such an illness who believes they have little chance of recovery. Read on for the complete review.

Choosing the right foundation can be a hit or miss affair. Countless numbers of women must spend years searching for the holy grail of foundations, the one that really will make your skin appear ‘flawless’.

While this claim is wearing a bit thin now, we can live in hope. Anyway, it's there again, promoting a new addition to the Revlon range with its Beyond Natural skin matching makeup.

Dove Body Moisturiser
Most of us want to have beautiful soft skin and one of the best ways of achieving this is to use a body moisturiser. During the summer, skin can become very dry, especially if you're spending more time outdoors in the sunshine. This could also mean you're using a lot more moisturiser than normal.

If this is the case and you're on the lookout for something different from your regular brand, you might want to take a look at this product from Dove, called 'Rich Nourishing Beauty Body Moisturiser'.

About Me!

Hi and thanks for visiting my blog!

My name's Caroline and I live in London. I'm a freelance writer and nutritionist, so you'll find a lot of my articles are health based.

I'm also passionately interested in skincare. Although the food we eat has the most noticeable effects on our skin, the skincare products we use has a large part to play.

As such, I often write product reviews and other articles on dealing with skincare and anti-aging.

I hope you enjoyed your visit here and come back soon :-)
