Fritters are a firm favorite in cuisines around the world. Eaten sweet or savory, these delicious fried cakes can be enjoyed as a dessert, starter or main meal. And fritters provide the perfect excuse for turning left over vegetables into a meal which the whole family can enjoy.
While zucchinis may not be the obvious contender as a fritter ingredient, they make a surprisingly appetizing addition to the basic fritter recipe.

I must admit, a few years ago I wasn't too concerned about food waste. So what, if I threw away some left over peas or a half used jar of pasta sauce.
Although not entirely happy with disposing half jars of good food, I was recycling the jar, thereby doing my bit for the good of the planet.
However, with the credit crunch hitting everyone hard, particularly families with children, it's time we all started examining our own food waste habits and working out how we can make improvements.

As every coffee aficionado knows, coffee is more than just a drink. It’s an experience and one that shouldn’t be hurried. To properly appreciate the full body, aroma, acidity and flavor of any coffee, it must be brewed from freshly ground specialty coffee beans and nothing less will do.
One of the main advantages of buying specialty coffee is the extensive range of coffees that are available to you. Rather than settling for whatever ‘house blend’ your regular coffee chain deems suitable, buying your own specialty coffee means you can experiment with coffee flavors from around the world.

The term ‘deli’ is an abbreviation of the word delicatessen, meaning ‘fine foods’ or delicacies. Though they may not all sell delicacies, many supermarkets and grocery stores do have a dedicated deli counter where you can find all manner of ready-to-eat, chilled food items. They are much like a mini-market within the main store where their purpose is to provide the customer with the ‘personal’ touch traditionally received in a specialist shop such as a butchers or bakery.

This is possibly as a result of the worldwide explosion of coffee shop chains. However, a coffee shop addiction can become somewhat expensive. So the next best thing is to choose your own gourmet coffee beans and recreate the coffee shop experience at home.

Binge drinking is a growing concern pervading all sectors of society, from stressed out, high income earners to the unemployed. And hardly a day goes by without newspaper reports detailing the alcohol-fueled antics of drunken teenagers, rampaging through city centers. But what sort of toll is binge drinking taking on their health?
Ground beef is the most widely eaten type of meat in the United States. It's easy to see why as ground beef forms the basis of many popular dishes, most notably hamburgers, meatloaf and chili. As well as its versatility, it's an inexpensive and convenient form of meat to buy. Unfortunately, the majority of red meat is high in fat when compared to poultry, for instance. And high consumption of ground beef is responsible for much of the fat content found in the American diet.
Symptoms of food poisoning can come on quite suddenly where you may suffer from sharp abdominal pains or have an urgent need to rush to the toilet. It’s certainly not a pleasant experience but most cases of food poisoning lasting up to 24 hours can safely be treated at home.

Smoothies are a delicious way of topping up your fruit intake. They're so simple to make, healthy and full of goodness, plus they're really filling. And if you have kids who refuse to eat some types of fruit, pop them into a smoothie and they'll never know.
A smoothie can also be drunk as a meal in itself. But rather than spending money on a shop bought version, making your own smoothie at home takes only a matter of minutes.

About Me!
Hi and thanks for visiting my blog!
My name's Caroline and I live in London. I'm a freelance writer and nutritionist, so you'll find a lot of my articles are health based.
I'm also passionately interested in skincare. Although the food we eat has the most noticeable effects on our skin, the skincare products we use has a large part to play.
As such, I often write product reviews and other articles on dealing with skincare and anti-aging.
I hope you enjoyed your visit here and come back soon :-)
