Whitening Toothpaste |
There are literally hundreds of tooth whitening products available to help put that sparkle back into your smile.
Tooth whitening is currently the most popular cosmetic dental treatment. It’s easily accessible to everyone, is relatively inexpensive and can make a noticeable improvement to your appearance. However, the treatments available vary considerably in price as well as the level of whiteness achieved.
Before splashing out money on chemicals, why not try one of the special whitening toothpastes. If your natural teeth were a nice white color beforehand but have simply become stained, then using a tooth whitening toothpaste can help remove stains and restore their previous whiteness.
If you’re after a truly bright smile, then you’ll need to use a special tooth whitening treatment. Special kits can be purchased from a pharmacy for as little as $50 for use in the comfort of your own home. Their results are comparable results with treatments provided by the dentist.
Common home tooth whitening kits include those involving wearing a mouth guard, strips applied directly to your teeth or a bleaching pen. Most contain a peroxide-based bleaching formula with the stronger concentrations providing the best results. You can buy peroxide-free kits, but they’re not always as successful in removing severe staining.
Depending on the severity of staining, it can take between 3-21 nights to achieve the desired level of whiteness. Unfortunately, the results don’t last and you may have to repeat the procedure in about a year’s time.
If you’re nervous about whitening your teeth yourself, then your dentist will do the job for you, at a higher cost of course! However, the benefits of going to the dentist include whiter teeth over a shorter timescale. Laser tooth whitening can achieve remarkable results within around 1-2 hours. T
he dentist first protects your gums with a special material before applying a whitening gel. Then a laser is used to speed up the lightening process. Finally, the gel is washed away, the protective material removed from your gums and you can walk out of the dental surgery sporting a brand new set of sparking white teeth.
Before rushing off to get your teeth whitened, bear in mind that not everyone is suitable for the treatment. For instance, if you have sensitive teeth or gum disease, the treatment may be too painful to contemplate. Also note the tooth whitening won’t alter the color of existing dentistry work such as crowns and fillings or teeth that are discolored through use of antibiotics.
Whichever method you choose, whitening your teeth has never been easier. So don’t hide behind your smile and give your teeth the radiance they deserve.

About Me!
Hi and thanks for visiting my blog!
My name's Caroline and I live in London. I'm a freelance writer and nutritionist, so you'll find a lot of my articles are health based.
I'm also passionately interested in skincare. Although the food we eat has the most noticeable effects on our skin, the skincare products we use has a large part to play.
As such, I often write product reviews and other articles on dealing with skincare and anti-aging.
I hope you enjoyed your visit here and come back soon :-)
