If you spend a lot of time at your computer browsing the Internet, it’s important the text is at a size that’s comfortable on your eyes. Squinting to read tiny text may result in headaches or eye problems, while text that’s too large won’t enable you to display as much information on your screen.

There are various methods for changing the text size in web browsers, one which takes as little as two seconds.

Step 1:

This keyboard shortcut method works in most browsers, including Explorer, Firefox, Chrome and Opera. To increase the text size, simply press the Control key together with the plus key (‘Ctrl +’).

Repeat these key presses until the text is the size you require. To decrease the text size, press the Control key together with the minus key (‘Ctrl –‘) and repeat this action until the text has decreased to a suitable size.

Press Control and zero ‘Ctrl 0’ to reset text back to its original size.

Although using the ‘Ctrl’ key is the quickest, you may prefer alternative methods which make use of the mouse. Alternatively, right click on the address bar and click on 'Customise'. This opens up a menu box. Click on 'Buttons' and scroll down to 'Browser view'. In here you can select the option for adjusting the screen size. You can also drag it up to the address bar where it will stay.

What you will need:

  • A mouse or a keyboard
Tips and Warnings
  • Changing the text size will only affect the current web page.

About Me!

Hi and thanks for visiting my blog!

My name's Caroline and I live in London. I'm a freelance writer and nutritionist, so you'll find a lot of my articles are health based.

I'm also passionately interested in skincare. Although the food we eat has the most noticeable effects on our skin, the skincare products we use has a large part to play.

As such, I often write product reviews and other articles on dealing with skincare and anti-aging.

I hope you enjoyed your visit here and come back soon :-)
